It's
about passion I realise;
what I used to call madness.
Somebody told me it was unacceptable.
Now I've found this space,
This wonderful receptacle
This crucible, where I can be wild
Where I can go to the edge
And even plunge over,
Knowing that I'm safe,
Knowing that I'm loved.
It's a place where I can flex myself,
Where I can roar and pout and scream,
Where I can laugh and dance
With all those demons
That fill the stage with their implements
And increments of pain and celebration.
It is the dance of creation and destruction,
The Shiva two-step.
It is a marvellous thing
That reaches through my gut
to grasp my spine and say:
I AM ALIVE!"
